ELLA MANOR
Ella Manor Lapointe was born in 1982 in Beer Sheva, Israel and grew up in Kibbutz Ruhama, in the south of Israel. She trained at the neueKUNSTschule (newARTschool) in Basel, Switzerland. She works as an artist and illustrator proficient in a wide variety of drawing and painting media, in figurative, as well as non-figurative and poetic visual styles. Her illustration projects include: 52 non-figurative illustrations, or moods, to The Calendar of the Soul verses by Rudolf Steiner, cover art and inside illustrations for Stella Natura - a biodynamic planting calendar, a cover and graphic work featured in the magazine Being Human; several illustrations and cover art for Das Goetheanum (a weekly publication from Dornach, Switzerland, with international distribution). Among her independent illustration projects, She has also illustrated nature poems by Christian Morgenstern, Rainer Maria Rilke, and others. She has contributed 7 years of monthly cover images for Chanticleer- The Newsletter for the Berkshire-Taconic Branch of The Anthroposophical Society.
In May 2018 Ella began collaborating with The Living Roots (Meaghan Witri and Séamus Maynard), to create images inspired by their songs. This has been a nourishing and fruitful collaboration. Pictures that emerged from that collaboration alongside other work inspired by poetry or songs will be featured in the exhibition: A Song to See ~ Pictures from the Well, this November at the Gallery at Camphill Ghent.
