Loki Anthony, known simply as Loki (low-key), is an Air Force Veteran, entrepreneur, and fashion designer. He invites all art and fashion enthusiasts to delight in viewing his creations at Lightforms Art Center Saturday January 21st from 5-8pm. This exhibit started December 10th and is building up to its finale.
Loki, a NYC native, long time resident of Hudson, and originator of the N.O.W (North Of Warren) DISTRICT Initiative: which guides people to retail shops, restaurants, and art galleries that are on the side streets in Hudson, off of Warren Street. He is currently exhibiting his upcycled designs at Lightforms Art Center, one of the galleries that is off the beaten path.
As sustainability in all its forms has gained traction in recent years. Upcycled clothing continues to be a hot topic in the fashion industry.
“There’s been a growing demand to retain value for these pieces. I transform them into truly original pieces of art. Clothing is my canvas”, Loki informs us. Loki also works with his clients directly to custom design a piece according to that individual’s style and measurements. During the exhibition finale, watch as he gives a live demo – breathing new life into fabric, and repurposing clothing through his unique painting techniques to create a truly original and one-of-a-kind piece. Models will walk the catwalk and give us a glimpse of what may have come before, and more importantly what the piece is now. A live performance will add to an already wonderful sensory and creative experience.
