The Lightness of Winter, a solo exhibition of new artwork by S. Moss celebrating the end of winter with a reception on Friday, March 4th from 6-8pm at Lightforms Art Center.. The exhibition runs through April 10th. The gallery is open Friday 3pm-7pm and Saturday/Sunday 11:30-5pm. Lightforms Art Center is located at 743 Columbia St. Hudson, NY. Drawings, sculptures of dried plants and mirror, and paintings on panels depicting twigs, branches and drying flowers found in winter but often unnoticed despite a beauty that’s unappreciated. Moss’ subject for this exhibition are the “underdogs“ of the floral world. The exhibition celebrates the beauty of winter plant life, minimally and poetically. The exhibition will also feature dried flower bouquets. A publication of poetry and drawings by Moss with short essays by curators Michele Thurz and Susan Jennings accompanies this exhibition.
On Friday, March 11th at 7pm there will be a performance in the exhibition by multimedia duo Black Lake which recently released an album on New Reality Records. Additionally Moss will be hosting two Still Life Drawing sessions in the art center on Sundays, March 21 and March 27th at 3pm – all events free of charge. All welcome.
